Information
In recognition of the various levels of handgun knowledge and competence possessed by citizens who wish to obtain North Carolina permits to carry concealed handguns, Range Safety Management, has developed a two-part training program.
The first part is based on the National Rifle Association's 1st Steps Pistol Training course. It requires approximately four hours of classroom instruction.
The second part consists of in-depth classroom instruction program on the publication "Laws Governing Concealed Handgun and Use of Deadly Force" that has been prepared by the North Carolina Justice Academy. This second course requires approximately four hours of combined classroom and range time for completion.
At the end of the course there will be a written examination. A score of 80% will be required to pass. The student will also be required to have a minimum of 35 hits on target out of 47 shots fired.
